Mary emigrates to Pontypool Wales.

In failrly short order, she marries a miner named William England. William is forty, Mary is twenty.

Notice that Mary leaves her mark. Indications are Mary never learned to write (as late as the 1910 US Census she is listed as not being able to write).

Mary and William proceed to have five children in rapid succession. Four survive.

William dies in 1864. Mary is now a widow with four young children.
